Accountancy firm BDO has appointed Majid Hussain as a tax director in its Guildford office, strengthening its private client practice. At the same time two managers have been hired to the same team.
Mr Hussain is a qualified barrister and chartered tax adviser. He was previously with Deloitte and specialises in all aspects of private client tax with a special interest in non UK domiciles and private equity executives.
His appointment to the Guildford team follows that of Michael Flaherty who joined as a tax partner in summer 2016, therefore bolstering BDO's private client offering in the south.
Mr Hussain is joined by two additional hires at manager level; Charlotte Wates (formerly of Saffery Champness and Deloitte) and Alice Flaxman (formerly of Saffery Champness and RSM).
Mr Flaherty commented: “Our recent hires demonstrate BDO’s clear commitment in investing in and enhancing our private client offering in the south and I am delighted that Majid, Charlotte and Alice have joined the team.
“The BDO private client practice is known for its depth and breadth of expertise and excellent client service. This will be further enhanced by these experienced and high calibre recruits at this busy time in the world of tax.”
Paul Ayres, BDO’s national head of private clients, added: “We are committed to delivering a market leading global private client business, meaning that wherever our clients are or want to be BDO are there to support them.
"Together these further appointments illustrate how important continuing to attract and reward high-calibre individuals is to BDO’s strategy for growth in private client services in both domestic and international markets.”
