In a new appointment, 2017 eprivateclient Top Law Firm Farrer & Co has appointed former PAM Awards judge Simon Rees as family office services director.
Mr Rees has spent 35 years looking after high net worth private clients and their families, working in Big 4 accountants, law firms and private banking.
With an initial base in tax advisory, he left PwC in 2005 to become head of tax at Ansbacher, where he also gained an investment management qualification.
His roles have broadened over time, particularly in the area of family trusts; he was one of the founding principals at boutique law firm New Quadrant Partners, looking after the firm’s trust management services, before becoming, most recently, head of UK fiduciary at Kleinwort Hambros.
