deVere Group, an independent financial services organisation, is set to launch in Austria.
The group’s first ever office in the country is to open in Vienna on 1 September 2017 and is the next step in its “ambitious expansion” across Western Europe.
The new office will be headed by consultants David Mihelic and supported by James Stratford. They will report to Colin Eldridge, head of deVere Italia.
Mr Eldridge commented: "Austria is an important financial centre and home to a large number of international companies, and has a high number of expats and international investors who are looking for our specialist cross-border financial advice to help them achieve their long-term financial objectives”.
“We fully expect more and more globally-minded and internationally-mobile individuals to come to Vienna over the next few years – perhaps more than ever - as the Eurozone recovers and growth and confidence return, attracting more multinational firms, and as continental Europe readjusts to a post-Brexit world”.
The office intends to take on 10 consultants, and their support staff, within the next 12-18 months to meet the expected demand. The firm will be looking to recruit for the Vienna office both from within the wider deVere Group and from external talent too.
The opening of the office in the Austrian capital comes following the appointment of James Green back in May as head of Western Europe, and two weeks since it was confirmed that deVere has reopened its Madrid office.
deVere Group founder and chief executive, Nigel Green, added that the development of Western Europe is a "major priority" for the organisation for the rest of 2017 and beyond.
The deVere Group has a network of more than 70 offices across the world, over 80,000 clients and $12 billion under advisement.
