Smith & Williamson makes private client partner promotions - including former Top 35 Under 35

Accountancy, investment management and tax group Smith & Williamson has promoted  Angela Hughes and 2012 eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35 Edward Emblem in the private client tax team to partners in its London and Guildford office respectively. 

Ms Hughes has been a director at Smith & Williamson for 24 years where she looks after tax, wider financial administration of both UK-based and international individuals, families, their trusts and charitable interests. Her main focus is on income and capital gains taxes, property taxes, and estate planning. 

Mr Emblem who has been a director at the firm for three years joined Smith & Williamson in 2015 from Baker Tilly where he was an associate director for almost eight years. Prior to that he was a private client tax manager at Menzies Chartered Accountants.

These promotions are part of a wide round of company promotions as the firm has also promoted seven within its investment management department to partner.

Genevra Banszky Von Ambroz, Alexander Imrie, Tim Loutit, Oliver Murray and Michael Saunders have been promoted at the London office whilst John Davies has been promoted at the Bristol office and Andy Peacock at the Guildford office.

Additionally, Matt Howells (London), Chetan Mistry (London) and Jamie Lane (Southampton) in the firm’s assurance & business services department have been promoted to partner alongside Faye Hall (forensics) at the Bristol office and Andrew Buchanan (group risk) in London. 

Smith & Williamson has £20.1 billion in funds under management and advice, as recorded in their 2018 annual report and 1,700 employees in 12 offices in the UK, Ireland and Jersey.
