Accountancy firm Menzies has acquired a niche private client team from Davies Gimber Brown LLP as part of a move to further strengthen its service offering.
Based at Davies Gimber Brown’s Leatherhead office, the five person team of advisers will complement Menzies’ existing private client offering, bringing with them experience in the areas of trusts and family groups.
Led by Martin Davies, who is joining Menzies as a director, the Leatherhead team will bring £1 million worth of new client fees to the firm in addition to supporting its national and international client portfolio.
Julie Adams, senior partner at Menzies, said: “This strategic acquisition makes perfect business sense for Menzies as a continuation of our growth plans. Martin’s team is heavily focused on advising clients in relation to trusts and family groups and this is an area of expertise where we are noticing an increase in demand.
“Our M&A growth strategy focuses on finding like-minded businesses, that either strengthen our existing offering or geographical reach.”
Menzies has offices across Surrey, Hampshire and London and offers a full range of services including tax, corporate finance, audit and compliance and business recovery, as well as strategic consultancy, outsourced HR & FD support, franchising and business valuations. It has over 400 employees and an annual turnover of more than £40 million.
